Art Gallery Opening

I had an art gallery opening last Thursday at school. The theme was self portraits. This is the finished product of my self-portrait oil painting. I had to do a panel with some sort of texture thing to go beside it, which is what you see on the left.

Another project we had was to do a self portrait in graphite. This is what I came up with. I'm not very happy with the results, and if I was doing it over I would have gone in a completely different direction. Part of the criteria was to use text, which is the background.
These pictures were taken with a camera phone, soooo they are kind of bad quality.

Figure Drawings

I drew these @ Calarts on Thursday and Friday. I need practice, so bad. I'm gonna start going to Emily Carr in Vancouver and practicing figure drawing there.

More sketchbook

I felt like I should add more stuff to my blog. No really finished/polished pieces, just stuff from my sketchbook. Also, my scanner sucks, once again, so yeah. Poor quality.

The bottom right corner of the last one is supposed to be myself in profile, but I didn't have reference so I don't think it came out very accurately.

Lime-coconut Italian Sodas

I supppose this little kid is getting bullied by two bigger guys.
Idrew a kid leaning against a post on his porch. He looks angsty. It's cut of a lot on all sides because my scanner isn't big enough. But his backyard and porch extend further.
Today, I walked to Fibonacci's and drew all the people that were swarming the streets because of the Iron Man Triathalon that goes on every year near where I live.
Here's a few of the pages that came out of that. They're a little cut off 'cause of my scanner.

New picturrrres

When I used to draw women, they'd look so butch. I think I'm getting better at softening their features.
